High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri.

Welcoming the Ambassador, Zareh Sinanyan stressed the importance of developing and expanding the Armenian-Iranian fraternal relations. Both sides emphasized the important role of the Armenian community of Iran in the implementation of bilateral relations and programs. It was emphasized that joint programs to popularize the history and culture of the two peoples and counteract historical distortion are a necessity.

The sides also noted the importance of intensifying cooperation between the Armenian and Iranian Diasporas.
