The High Commissioner Visits Armenian Cultural Centers in Buenos Aires

Zareh Sinanyan, RA High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, currently on a working visit to Argentina, visited the Marash Compatriots Union in Buenos Aires (Unión Compatriótica Armenia de Marash), where he familiarized himself with the organization's activities and met with its president, Ricardo Vaneskeheian. During the meeting, Zareh Sinanyan presented the plans of the Office and discussed potential areas for cooperation. In turn, the union's representatives shared their ongoing initiatives, including events commemorating the 100th anniversary of the union's founding.
As part of his visit, Zareh Sinanyan also visited the Armenian Center of Argentina (Centro Armenio de la República Argentina), where he learned about its activities and future plans. He engaged in discussions with the Center’s President, Aram Karaguezian, and other members on a broad range of Armenia-Diaspora cooperation issues.
Zareh Sinanyan then visited the Tekeyan Cultural Association of Buenos Aires, where he met with the association's head, Sergio Nahabetian, and members. The discussion focused on the challenges of preserving Armenian identity and culture in Argentina, as well as the prospects for enhancing cooperation with the Office.
During a meeting with representatives from the "Sharyum" Cultural Center (Unión Cultural Armenia Sharyum) of the Hunchakian party in Buenos Aires, Zareh Sinanyan addressed issues related to the protection of Armenians and exchanged ideas on strengthening dialogue between the local Armenian community and Armenia.
RA Ambassador to Argentina Hovhannes Virabyan was present at all of the meetings held in Buenos Aires.
In addition, Zareh Sinanyan met with the youth council of the Armenian Institutions of Argentina (Instituciones Armenias de la República Argentina/IARA) in the Argentine capital. The meeting was attended by members of the AGBU youth wing, the scout groups, the youth wing of the Buenos Aires Armenian Center (Centro Armenio), and other community organizations. During the meeting, the High Commissioner presented several programs aimed at engaging Diaspora youth, including the iGorts, Diaspora Youth Ambassador, Step toward Home programs, and the upcoming National Youth Forum. High Commissioner Sinanyan also addressed numerous questions from the youth.
