Breakout Session #1: Diaspora in Public Health & Social Welfare

The first Breakout Session of this afternoon is “Diaspora in Public Health & Social Welfare” presented by Kim Hekimian, Professor of Nutrition at AUA and Columbia University. During this session, our guest speakers Shant Shekherdimian, Inaugural Associate Director for Healthcare Outreach for the Promise Armenian Institute, Tatevik Stepanyan, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Arman Voskerchyan, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at HENAR Foundation (Health Network for Armenia), Elena Akopyan, President of "Hurry to Good" Charitable Foundation, and Tatyana Hovhannisyan, PhD, MD and Co-Founder Chairman of Viva Foundation, had a fruitful conversation, discussing the development of new healthcare systems and the enactment of better social welfare policies in Armenia.
