I am Albert Khachatryan, and I am currently living in the city of Auch in France.

I work as a sports-social programme specialist, developing and implementing initiatives which use sport as a tool to promote youth development, inclusion and community solidarity. A large portion of my work is concerned with strengthening relationships between people and creating a sense of shared social responsibility.

I am actively engaged in community life in Auch, and I participate in a range of different social initiatives. I organise events, engage with children and generally work to strengthen ties within the community. At the same time I am a member of the Amicale des Arméniens de Toulouse et de la Région Midi-Pyrénées, participating in initiatives designed to promote the development of Armenian community life.

My goal is to form an Armenian community consolidating residents of the city of Auch and the surrounding region. At the moment there is no working community or union of any kind, and I wish to undertake the creation of the first platform, where Armenians can meet, socialise, organise joint cultural and communal events, and protect their culture, language and traditions and pass them onto younger generations.

As a ‘Diaspora Youth Ambassador’ my goal is to form innovative projects, which will create new opportunities for young people and promote inclusivity and create an active community. I also want to form stronger connections between Armenia and the Diaspora and develop cooperation between local structures in Auch and Armenia, especially for young people in the fields of sport, culture and education.
