My name is Davit Kavkasyan. I am currently based near Shanghai, China.

I travelled from Armenia to Israel in 2017, to attend the Givat Haviva High School where I represented my country among students from around the world. Just before turning 20, I received a full-ride scholarship at Duke Kunshan University and moved to China as the first Armenian student on campus, where I study Arts and Media.

During junior year (2025–2026), studies and travels took me to 13 countries, including a semester abroad in North Carolina and I made a point to seek out and engage with local Armenian communities in as many places as I could.

As the Diaspora Youth Ambassador for China, I will bring together the growing young diaspora in the Shanghai and Jiangsu areas. My mission is to leverage the power of the community to showcase centuries-old Armenian art and crafts and help open doors for engagement and involvement between China and Armenia."
