Thanks to the efforts of Diaspora, a laboratory was opened in Areni

High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan participated in the opening ceremony of the newly built agricultural laboratory in Areni. The laboratory was founded by Swiss Armenians’ «Fondation Alliance Arménienne de Genève» and «Piliposyan and Piloyan» foundations and philanthropist Khachik Hakobyan.
The event was also attended by Governor of Vayots Dzor Province Ararat Grigoryan, Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan, head of Areni community Husik Sahakyan, head of Swiss foundations, businessman-philanthropist Vahe Gabrash.
The laboratory will conduct soil and water research with its latest generation equipment, provide problem-solving advice to agriculturists and it will also serve as a training center.
«This event is an excellent example of Diaspora investing in Armenia, contributing to the development of the province and innovative agriculture, risk control and quality improvement. I express my special thanks to Vahe Gabrash and members of the foundations of Swiss Armenians for standing firmly by the homeland,» noted Zareh Sinanyan.
After the opening ceremony, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the foundations, Armenian National Agrarian University and Areni community.
