Within the framework of his working visit to Spain, High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan visited the "Ayb" Armenian Sunday School in Santa Coloma, which operates under the "Ararat" Union. Accompanied by Head of the Union Sargis Hakobyan, the High Commissioner toured the school, got acquainted with the activities and teaching staff. After that, a meeting was held with the representatives of the local Armenian community. Head of the "Ararat" Union, Diaspora Youth Ambassador to Spain in 2021-2022 Sargis Hakobyan highlighted the visit of the High Commissioner and noted that the community was formed relatively recently, but it is able to work together, be active and stand by the homeland. He especially singled out the fact that the Parliament of Catalonia held a commemoration day of the Armenian Genocide as a great achievement for the community. Speaking about the programs of the office, Ani Bayatyan, Diaspora Youth Ambassador to Spain in 2022-2023, President of the Association "Armenian Girls in Catalonia", Vice President of "AGBU YP Barcelona" highlighted the programs "Diaspora Youth Ambassador" and "iGorts" of specialists from Diaspora working in the RA management system, within the framework of which a number of initiatives have been launched thanks to the new connections. The High Commissioner expressed gratitude to the representatives of the community for their efforts and work, spoke about cooperation with Diaspora, programs and strategic directions. There were questions about the retraining of Diaspora Armenian teachers, teaching methods, reducing the age limit of the "Step toward home" program for Diaspora Armenian youth, participation in the office programs and the National Youth Forum.
