During his visit to Spain, High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan met with the representatives of the Armenian community of Alicante.

Presenting the activities of the local Armenian community, Chairman of the «Hayastan» Association of Alicante Hasmik Kocharyan noted that they started their activities back in 2007. «In the same year, our first Armenian school was opened, then a khachkar was installed. In 2018, a new school was opened, where we already have 85 Armenian students. We also have a dance group,» said Hasmik Kocharyan. She also emphasized that they are closely cooperating with the local municipality.

The High Commissioner thanked the community for unity and noted that all the big and small successes of the community are the result of the efforts and work. Zareh Sinanyan also presented the activities, programs and initiatives of the office that have great interest and demand in the community.

The participants asked questions about Armenia's security system, military service, investments, charity, educational programs and textbooks and Armenia-Spain bilateral relations.
