This week marks the start of a two-week intensive course for the "Diaspora Youth Ambassador" programme.
Participants had the opportunity to engage with Erik Hakobyan, a political consultant and columnist for "CivilNet." He conducted a captivating lecture and discussion with the young community leaders, focusing on the topic: "Current Political Developments in Armenia."
The "Diaspora Youth Ambassadors" had the opportunity to attend a seminar on leadership in a dynamic world, led by Artak Shakaryan, the founding director of the School of Young Leaders (2006-2016) and Senior Head of Armenian programs at the International Republican Institute.
During their visit to the "M.A.M" educational movement, participants explored the potential for online Armenian language lessons for Diaspora Armenians. They had a productive meeting with the movement's founders, Marina and Meline Kazaryan, to discuss this exciting opportunity.
The representatives of the "Teach for Armenia" educational foundation introduced the program participants to the foundation's core initiatives and outlined opportunities for Diaspora youth engagement.
The program had the privilege of hosting Professor Sergey Tantushyan from the American University of Armenia (AUA), a recognized business coach and consultant. He led an engaging business meeting with our participants, delving into the art of persuasive communication and mastering the ability to persuade others while maintaining self-awareness.
In addition to their coursework, the youth ambassadors had the opportunity to visit the Repatriation and Integration Center of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs. During the visit, Hovhannes Aleksanyan, the Head of Repatriation programmes at the office, provided valuable insights into repatriation trends, procedures, statistics, and the focus areas of the newly established center. The participants of the program also visited the “Repat Armenia” foundation, where they were greeted by the Co-founder and Executive Director of the foundation, Vardan Marashlyan and his team. They had the opportunity to gain valuable first-hand knowledge about the foundation's activities. A separate meeting was arranged with repatriates from different countries.
