Finalizing DiasPro Program Applications
01 December 2023
On December 1, the application acceptance phase for the DiasPro 2023 professional volunteer program concluded. This initiative, led by the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, marks its inaugural implementation, inviting Diaspora Armenian specialists to contribute their consulting and expertise, either online or offline, towards the development of state and local government bodies in Armenia.
During the month-long application window, 142 submissions were received from 24 countries worldwide, including the USA, Australia, Argentina, Austria, Latvia, Brazil, Qatar, UAE, Russia, Kazakhstan, and other countries. Notably, the applicant pool encompasses graduates from esteemed institutions such as Yale University, Sorbonne University, UCLA, and Moscow State University (named after Lomonosov), specializing in diverse fields like healthcare, human rights, economics, tourism, and social domains.
Upcoming stages include interviews and the selection process for program participants. The chosen Diaspora Armenian specialists will commence their professional volunteering within the administrative systems of the Republic of Armenia starting in January 2024.
The genesis of the DiasPro program stemmed from the expressed interest and demand among various professional circles within the Diaspora and departments of Armenia's state system, all eager to contribute voluntarily to their homeland's administration.
