Meeting with the Armenian Missionary Association of Australia
14 Fabruary 2024
High Commissioner Sinanyan met with Reverend Krikor Youmshajekian of the Armenian Missionary Association of Australia and Reverend Hagop Sarkissian of the Armenian Evangelical Church of Willoughby.
Mr. Sinanyan values the partnership the Office has developed with the Armenian Missionary Association of America over the years. He appreciates their efforts in supporting Armenians globally, both physically and spiritually, and was grateful for the opportunity to meet with the AMA-Australia.
During the meeting with AMA-Australia, the discussion was centered around the active role they play within the community and its ongoing support for humanitarian initiatives in Armenia. Recently, the organization revitalized its scholarship program to aid Armenian university students in Australia.
High Commissioner Sinanyan also visited the Armenian Evangelical Church of Willoughby, where he learned more about their community in Sydney and engaged with parishioners. The parish was established in 1966 and is a member of the Union of Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East. The church’s membership reaches 250 active members with 65 families.
