On May 27, the Center for Repatriation and Integration hosted the presentation of the book "The Great Repatriation and the Armenian Church," authored by Hayk Yengibaryan, a lecturer at Yerevan State University with a PhD in History.
The event, organized as part of "Repatriation Week," featured an opening speech by Zareh Sinanyan, the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs.
"The great repatriation, a significant event from the post-war period of the 20th century, is crucial to study. Mr. Yengibaryan's work provides us with detailed insights into the characteristics of mass repatriation, allowing us to examine it within the context of current repatriation trends," noted the High Commissioner.
The event also featured speeches by the Minister of High-Tech Industry and former Minister of Diaspora, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, along with representatives from scientific and academic circles.
At the end of the presentation, the author, Hayk Yengibaryan, expressed his gratitude for the organization of the event, discussed his research, and answered questions from the audience.
"Repatriation Week" runs from May 27 to 31. Organized by the Repatriation and Integration Center of the RA Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, the week features a variety of events, including workshops for repatriates, both online and offline consultations, an amateur chess tournament for repatriated schoolchildren, and retraining programs.
