Consultations for Repatriates

30 May 2024

During "Repatriation Week" from May 27 to 31, a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoU) was signed between the RA Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs and the Sovorir.IT company.

Mushegh Ghukasyan, the Chief of Staff at the Office, and Martin Ghazaryan, the Executive Director of the company, signed the MoU. The document formalizes the "Armenia-Diaspora. Vol. 1" program, which offers repatriates the opportunity to participate in free IT courses across various fields.

As part of the week's events, an orientation meeting for repatriates was held on May 29, co-organized with the "Repat Armenia" foundation. This meeting provided information on several key topics, including obtaining RA citizenship or residence status, job placement, business ownership, and various organizational, educational, and health issues. Repatriates from Russia, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Ukraine, Georgia, and other countries attended the meeting.

Additionally, an online informational session on repatriation issues was held with representatives of Armenian communities and other compatriots interested in repatriation from the Russian cities of Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Irkutsk, and Anapa. This meeting was supported by participants of the Diaspora Youth Ambassador program from Russia.
