High Commissioner Meets with Delegation from French Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole

High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan received the delegation from the French Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole in Armenia, led by Clare Hart, the Metropolitan's Vice President for International Relations.
The delegation included Claire Piecuch and Clémentine Papa from the Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, Amin Faraj, the President of the Human Rights Institute attached to the Montpellier Chamber of Advocates, Naira Zoroyan, the Vice president of the institute, member of the board of directors of the "BPCE" banking group and President of the "Renaissance Armenie" association. Other notable members were Cheick Sako, the former Minister of Justice of Guinea, Dorothée Le Fraper du Hellen, the former Head of the UN Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) Protection Office, Laetitia Jambon, the former President of the Montpellier Bar Association, lawyers Assia Bessa-Soufi and Sylvie Delort, and Gohar Galustian, the Diaspora Youth Ambassador participant from Montpellier.
Welcoming the guests, Zareh Sinanyan highlighted the importance of deepening relations with France at various levels and emphasized the key role of the Armenian community in this effort.
"The Armenian community in France is one of the most influential in the world. It carries out exemplary work in strengthening Armenian-French friendship and expanding ties between the two countries," Zareh Sinanyan noted.
Clare Hart, Vice President for International Relations of Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, emphasized the active involvement and significant contributions of the local Armenian community to the metropolis.
"We value the development of our relations with Armenia and the Armenian community. Armenia is truly represented in the heart of Montpellier. In the center of the city, there is a monument dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide, and the park adjacent to the city hall is named 'Armenia,'" Clare Hart noted.
At the meeting, Clare Hart also spoke about her visit to the city of Hrazdan in the Kotayk region, where she met with students from the local high school with French language training and learned about the needs of the sports school.
The meeting also covered the activities of the Human Rights Institute attached to the Chamber of Advocates of Montpellier. Its president, Amin Faraj, discussed the scientific conferences and humanitarian initiatives the organization regularly holds on topics such as the Armenian Genocide and the protection of Armenian interests.
The representatives of the French delegation invited the High Commissioner to Montpellier to gain deeper insights into the local Armenian community's activities on the ground and broaden the scope of cooperation.
