High Commissioner Participates in Charity Event for IT Training Program Benefiting Soldiers
02 September 2024
High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Zareh Sinanyan, attended a charity evening hosted by the Komitas National Quartet at the Armenian National Agrarian University.
The event was dedicated to the relaunch of the "IT Training Courses for Wounded and Disabled Soldiers, Volunteers, and Displaced Persons from Artsakh" program.
The program has been revived with funding from the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the support of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, the Armenian National Agrarian University, the "Zinapah" National Insurance Fund for Soldiers, the "Zinvori tun" NGO, and the "Munq" Technical School.
In his welcome address, the High Commissioner highlighted the program's significance: "As many of you know, this program was first launched in 2021, providing an opportunity for those injured in the 2020 Artsakh 44-day war to participate in IT training courses. These courses have equipped participants with essential skills and knowledge for their future careers. I’m pleased to share that the program was a success, with most of the nearly two dozen graduates now employed in various institutions across Armenia," said Zareh Sinanyan.
Other speakers at the event included Archbishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, Mikael Minasyan, President of the "Association of European and Armenian Experts" NGO, and Hrachya Zakoyan, Acting Rector of the Armenian National Agrarian University.
The program's details were presented by the program manager Arman Khalatyan.
The event was attended by university students and faculty members.
