The High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan is on a working visit to Russia. At the invitation of Shahen Petrosyan, the Chairman of the Association of Armenian Lawyers of Russia, he took part in the Association’s annual general jubilee meeting.

Welcoming the guests, Zareh Sinanyan thanked the members of the association for the work they had done, emphasizing the importance of consolidating highly qualified specialists in the field of law.

Later that evening, the High Commissioner was invited to a concert of "Krunk. Komitas", dedicated to the work of the great Armenian composer Komitas. The event was organized by the Armenian Regional Youth Association of St. Petersburg. The concert featured a string quartet, piano, duduk, harp and canon. The musical program consisted of Armenian composers' compositions (Komitas, Sayat-Nova, A. Babajanyan, etc.). The concert was complemented by a fascinating visual design consisting of animated canvases by Martiros Saryan, as well as paintings and author animation from ARMA activists.

In General Consulate of Armenia in St. Petersburg the meeting with youth representatives was took place. The meeting held in a question-and-answer format. There were discussed wide range of questions related to the preservation of Armeniancy, methods for promoting Armenian culture. The attention was particularly paid to military accounting and service, repatriation and obtaining citizenship issues. Also Aza Nshanovna Grigoryan, the Acting General Consul, was taking part in the meeting.

The High Commissioner noted the active participation of St. Petersburg youth in the programs and events held by the Office and expressed hope for long-term cooperation in strengthening Armenia-Diaspora relations, and also thanked the youth for the high level of organization of the concert dedicated to Komitas.
