Zareh Sinanyan Meets with the Representatives of Uruguay’s Armenian Community

Zareh Sinanyan, RA High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, is on an official visit to Uruguay.
In Montevideo, he visited the Nubarian College of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU), where he toured the college and learned about its educational programs, accompanied by school leadership. Discussions with the school’s management, which has operated since 1976, focused on the teaching of Armenian language and strengthening cultural and social ties with Armenia.
Zareh Sinanyan also held a meeting at the school with representatives from the AGBU Uruguay office and members of the youth wing, where he introduced the activities of the Office, particularly programs targeting Armenian youth from the Diaspora. The Ambassador of Armenia to Uruguay, Mariam Gevorgyan, attended the meeting as well.
In addition to this visit, Zareh Sinanyan visited the Armenian Apostolic Cathedral Surb Nerses Shnorali in Montevideo and met with His Eminence Hakob Archbishop Glnchyan, Head of the Armenian Diocese of Uruguay.
He also met with Diego Karamanukian, a representative of the Hnchakian Party, and members of the party at the "Casa Armenia" center. Their discussion covered a broad range of community-related issues, including Armenian language education and the preservation of cultural identity.
At the Armenian National Center of Uruguay ("Centro Nacional Armenio"), Zareh Sinanyan was introduced to the center's cultural activities and initiatives.
At the RA Embassy to the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, the High Commissioner met with representatives of the Armenian community in Montevideo. During this gathering, Zareh Sinanyan outlined the Office's key initiatives and discussed opportunities for community involvement in ongoing programs. He also addressed questions from attendees on topics such as preserving Armenian identity and culture in the Diaspora, fostering stronger ties with Armenia, and developing new cooperation formats.
