On February 9, The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan, participated in a solemn event dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of Armenian poet, lyricist, public and political figure Vahan Teryan.

The event was attended by Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan, Deputy Minister Daniel Danielyan, President of the Writers’ Union of Armenia Edward Militonyan, President of the Teryan Cultural Center Arushan Hakobyan, members of the Teryan family, intellectuals, scholars, and other officials.

The guests visited the Komitas Pantheon, where they burned incense and laid flowers in memory of the poet. Participants reflected on Vahan Teryan’s life, achievements, and creative legacy, while students from Yerevan’s School No. 91 recited Vahan Teryan’s poems.

Following this, the event titled “With Teryan” took place at the Komitas Museum-Institute.

The event was organized by the Teryan Cultural Center NGO and the Support to Javakhk Foundation.
