High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan Conducts Working Visit to the Netherlands
On February 17-18, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan visited Amsterdam and The Hague, where he met with Diaspora Commissioners in the Netherlands, participants of the “Diaspora Youth Ambassador” program, the leadership of the “Abovian” Cultural Association , and young Armenians residing in the country.
Throughout these meetings, the High Commissioner provided a comprehensive overview of the initiatives undertaken by the Office, learned about the ongoing activities of the Diaspora Commissioners in the Netherlands, responded to questions from community representatives, and discussed upcoming programs and potential avenues for collaboration.
During a joint meeting with representatives of the “Abovian” Cultural Association and young members of the community, Sinanyan emphasized the importance of active youth engagement both in the local Armenian community and in initiatives organized by the Office of the High Commissioner. These efforts aim to strengthen Armenia-Diaspora ties and harness the potential of the Diaspora for Armenia’s development.
In this context, the High Commissioner invited young Armenians to participate in the 2nd National Youth Forum, which will take place in Yerevan in the summer of 2025.
The meeting was attended by Diaspora Commissioners in the Netherlands, Mato Hakhverdyan and Hayk Azizbekyan, as well as former participants of the “Diaspora Youth Ambassador” program, Hayk Khanamiryan and Astghik Hakhnazaryan.
