Zareh Sinanyan's working meetings in Almelo, Kingdom of the Netherlands

On February 19–20, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Zareh Sinanyan visited Almelo, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, where he met with Almelo Mayor Richard Korteland, as well as representatives of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Almelo, the “Yerevan” Club, and other local community organizations.
During his meeting with Mayor Richard Korteland, discussions focused on strengthening ties between the sister cities of Ejmiatsin and Almelo and exploring opportunities for enhanced cooperation. The High Commissioner expressed appreciation for the Mayor’s warm welcome and continued support for the Armenian community, emphasizing that representatives of the Almelo Municipality are always welcome in Armenia.
As part of the visit, the High Commissioner toured the Armenian Apostolic Church of Almelo, where he met with the Chairman of the Church Council, Onik Gelidji. Together, they visited the memorial complex dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
The High Commissioner also visited the “Yerevan” Club in Almelo, where he met with the club’s leadership to learn more about the organization’s history, activities, and ongoing initiatives. Discussions included potential collaboration between the Office of the High Commissioner and the “Yerevan” Club to further engage and support the Armenian community.
Additionally, the High Commissioner met with representatives of other Armenian community organizations, presenting the Office’s key priorities, vision, and programs aimed at strengthening Armenia-Diaspora relations. He also addressed questions from community members on a range of topics, including Armenia-Diaspora relations, security, education, culture, and other key issues in Armenia.
