RA High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan met with Aram Sargsyan, Secretary General of the Armenian National Ice Hockey Team, and Natalya Kazantseva, Board Member of the AHL Armenian Hockey League.

The discussion focused on the upcoming Ice Hockey World Championship, set to take place in Yerevan from April 13-19. For the first time in 15 years, Armenia’s national team will participate in the tournament alongside teams from Iran, Indonesia, Kuwait, Malaysia, and Uzbekistan.

The guests presented the current roster of Armenia’s national ice hockey team, recent developments in the field, as well as existing needs and challenges.

High Commissioner Sinanyan highly valued the efforts to develop ice hockey in Armenia, emphasizing the importance of using the sport to represent Armenian athletics on the international stage and to promote major sporting events in the country.
