Zareh Sinanyan met with the Mayor of Plovdiv, Kostadin Dimitrov

As part of his working visit to Bulgaria, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan met with the Mayor of Plovdiv, Kostadin Dimitrov.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Bulgaria, H.E. Tsovinar Hambardzumyan, and Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs in Bulgaria, President of the Union of Armenians of Europe, Artur Hovhannisyan.
Welcoming the guests, Mayor Dimitrov expressed his pleasure in hosting the Armenian delegation this year, especially as Plovdiv has been designated the Cultural Capital of Bulgaria for 2025.
In his remarks, the Mayor highlighted the significant role the Armenian community plays in the city’s cultural life and emphasized its long-standing contribution to Plovdiv’s development in the fields of culture and beyond.
The High Commissioner expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and the decades-long support shown to the Armenian community.
“As a vital pillar in the preservation of Armenian identity, the community center holds great importance for us, and we highly value the continued support provided by the Municipality of Plovdiv,” stated Zareh Sinanyan.
Mayor Dimitrov presented the city’s economic, cultural, and tourism potential to the High Commissioner.
The parties discussed prospects for deepening Armenia–Bulgaria cooperation, particularly in the areas of economy and tourism. They also touched upon the possibility of launching direct flights between Yerevan and Plovdiv.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the High Commissioner extended an official invitation for a delegation led by the Mayor of Plovdiv to visit Armenia.
