On May 5, the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan, visited the town of Sevan, where he met with Artashes Dadayan, founder and director of the Winds of Armenia sailing club.

Artashes Dadayan presented the current activities of the club to the High Commissioner and spoke about upcoming initiatives, highlighting the events planned for 2025, investment opportunities, and the project’s strategic importance.

The club offers sailing training courses, organizes local and international regattas, as well as events tailored for corporate clients.

Among these events, the Armenian Championship in the J/70 class holds particular significance, as it is conducted in full compliance with international standards.

This year, the championship will take place in two stages—from July 24 to August 17.

The Winds of Armenia project aims to develop sailing sports in Armenia, promote water sports, and foster a new sports and tourism subculture.

During the meeting, the parties discussed potential collaboration with the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs to engage the Diaspora’s potential in the development of Armenia’s sports and tourism sectors.
