The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan, met with the founders of Ver Var, Yerevan’s newly opened bouldering and sport climbing gym, to discuss opportunities for collaboration and their experience as repatriates building a business in Armenia.

Ver Var, which officially opened on May 10, 2025, is one of the first gyms of its kind in the country. It was established by a group of repatriates from the United States, Australia, and Russia. Combining state-of-the-art climbing infrastructure with a strong sense of community and a commitment to healthy, active lifestyles, the gym reflects the founders’ dedication to contributing to Armenia’s development.

During the visit, Zareh Sinanyan toured the facility and spoke with the Ver Var team about their repatriation journey, the challenges of launching a unique venture in Armenia, and their vision for expanding the culture of climbing and outdoor sports across the country.
