On September 3, the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Zareh Sinanyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay to Armenia, Silvana Leska Barolin.

Welcoming the Ambassador and congratulating her on the commencement of her diplomatic mission in Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan expressed hope that during her tenure, through joint efforts, relations between Armenia and Uruguay will further develop and expand in such fields as the economy, tourism, education, culture, and other areas of mutual interest.

The High Commissioner and Ambassador Silvana Leska Barolin discussed a wide range of issues, including matters related to the Armenian community in Uruguay, raising awareness of Uruguay in Armenia, increasing bilateral trade turnover, and expanding prospects for cooperation.

Zareh Sinanyan presented the programs implemented by the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs and expressed readiness to support the Embassy within the framework of the Diaspora Commissioners’ Institute, the Diaspora Youth Ambassadors Program, and other initiatives and competencies of the Office, in order to advance bilateral initiatives.

The Ambassador valued the cooperation with the Armenian community in Uruguay and the Embassy of Armenia, and expressed confidence that her tenure in Armenia would contribute to further strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation.
