Zareh Sinanyan, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, went on a working visit to Denmark.

In Brøndby, he met with Hajg Zanazanian, a member of the City Council, representative of Denmark’s Socialist People’s Party, and Chair of the Committee on Social Affairs and Health. They discussed community governance, experiences in the social and healthcare sectors, programs to enhance community life, and opportunities for greater involvement of the local Armenian community.

The High Commissioner and Mr. Zanazanian also toured the municipality building, where they learned about its operations, ongoing projects, and services offered to residents.

Later that day, the High Commissioner met with Sjúrður Skaale, a member of the Danish Parliament (Folketing). Their conversation focused on prospects for strengthening Armenia–Denmark relations, better engaging the potential of Armenians living in Denmark, and supporting both community integration and the preservation of national identity.

During his stay, Mr. Sinanyan also met with members of the Armenian community in Copenhagen. Organized at the initiative of Anna Karapetyan, Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs in Denmark, the meeting gave him the chance to present the activities and ongoing programs of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs. He emphasized the importance of diaspora involvement in Armenia’s development, responded to questions from community representatives, and highlighted the value of strengthening ties between Armenia and the diaspora.

The day ended with a concert celebrating the anniversary of Komitas’ birth, featuring a performance by Armenian duduk player Gagik Gasparyan from Argentina.
