World Tourism Communication Forum

On October 24, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Zareh Sinanyan took part in the World Tourism Communication Forum, organized by the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Armenia, and participated as a panelist in the discussion “Who Shapes the Story? Intercultural Communication, Media Narratives, and the Power to Define a Destination.”
The Forum was attended by Minister of Economy of Armenia Gevorg Papoyan, Chair of the Tourism Committee Lusine Gevorgyan, Executive Director of the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia Zaruhi Muradyan, as well as ambassadors accredited in Armenia, and representatives of international organizations, educational institutions, the media, and tourism industry professionals.
During the panel discussion, participants explored the nuances of intercultural communication, the process of shaping media narratives, and their influence on how countries are perceived as tourist destinations.
High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan presented opportunities for engaging the potential of the Armenian Diaspora to enhance Armenia’s international visibility and strengthen its tourism communication efforts.
He emphasized that Diaspora communities and their stories can become an integral part of Armenia’s tourism narrative, contributing not only to the country’s global recognition but also to building bridges between different cultures.
