The “Cultural Dialogue Platform” parallel discussions were concluded with a Music Workshop and Discussion.
The workshop was conducted in two parts. During the first part, participants had the opportunity to explore the history of music composition, current trends in the field, and existing challenges.
The session was led by Artur Shahnazaryan, Head of the Creative Team at the National Center of Folk Music and Dance, Artistic Director of the Akunq Ethnographic Ensemble, Member of the Board of the Union of Composers of Armenia, Composer, Komitas Scholar, and Specialist in Khaz Notation, and Levon Chatikyan, Head of the Duduk and Caucasian Music Department in the city of Roman, Professor, and Duduk Player.
The speakers included:
- Barsegh Tumanyan, Opera Singer;
- Garik Kiurkchian, Director of the Sahak Mesrop Cultural Center in Marseille and Artistic Director of the Choir;
- Olivia Melkonian, Audio Producer, Sound Archivist, Founder of Analog Armenia;
- Tatev Yeghiazaryan, iGorts Participant, Keron Development Foundation's "Talent Pool" program participant, Artistic Program Coordinator, and Head of the Artistic Department at the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra;
- Nareh Arghamanyan, Head of the Piano Department at the Vienna Music Academy and at the Vienna Beethoven Conservatory;
The second part of the workshop, titled “Komitas: Noise and Sounds,” featured Hayk Petrosyan, Actor, Musician, Singer, and Comedian, who presented Komitas’ musical heritage through a contemporary interpretation.
