The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan is on a working visit to Washington, D.C.

The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Zareh Sinanyan, is on a working visit to Washington, D.C.

On December 9, as part of his working visit to the United States, High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan met in Washington with Mr. Bryan Ardouny, Executive Director of the Armenian Assembly of America, and Ms. Mariam Khaloyan, Director of Congressional Relations at the Assembly. The Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the United States, Mr. Narek Mkrtchyan, also participated in the meeting.

During their discussion, the parties addressed the activities of the Armenian Assembly of America, its initiatives aimed at deepening cooperation with Armenia, and new opportunities for collaboration.

High Commissioner Sinanyan reaffirmed the Office’s readiness to work with all diaspora organizations and individuals willing to contribute to Armenia’s development and advancement. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that diaspora engagement becomes more structured, coordinated, and goal-oriented.

That same day, at the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the United States, Mr. Sinanyan, together with Ambassador Mkrtchyan, met with representatives of the Armenian community in Washington, D.C.

The High Commissioner presented the Office’s short-term and long-term objectives, current priorities, and ongoing programs. He also responded to participants’ questions, addressing issues related to more targeted engagement of the Armenian community’s potential in the United States, as well as the Armenian Government’s agenda and ongoing reforms in the country.

On December 10, the High Commissioner visited the Library of Congress, where, accompanied by Professor Khatchig Mouradian, he explored the Library’s rich historical and cultural collections, including rare manuscripts, historical documents, and valuable archival exhibits.
