On December 22, Zareh Sinanyan, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, met with Der Hayr Armen Melkonian, a clergyman of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Bulgaria.

During the meeting, Der Hayr Armen thanked the High Commissioner for his visit to Bulgaria and for the constructive meetings held with representatives of the local Armenian community, noting the importance of the visit, particularly in addressing issues of concern to the community.

The discussion focused on ways to further develop community life, enhance youth engagement in cultural and educational programs, and promote joint initiatives and future cooperation aimed at strengthening community cohesion.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed the central role of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the life of the Armenian people — particularly in the Diaspora— as a key pillar in preserving national identity, spiritual values, and Armenian heritage.
