Zareh Sinanyan, paid a working visit to Singapore

The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan, paid a working visit to Singapore to participate in the celebrations marking the 190th anniversary of the Armenian Apostolic Church of St. Gregory the Illuminator.

The events, organized by the Church’s Board of Trustees, brought together approximately 110 participants from 14 countries.

During the anniversary ceremony, High Commissioner Sinanyan delivered a congratulatory address, in which he emphasized the remarkable and longstanding contributions of Singapore’s Armenian community in preserving and promoting Armenian heritage, the Armenian language and culture, as well as spiritual values.

As part of the celebrations, the Armenian Heritage Centre and a new community reception hall were officially inaugurated.

During the visit, High Commissioner Sinanyan also met with representatives of the Armenian community in Singapore, as well as with diaspora Armenians visiting from Australia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, India, and other countries. The discussions focused on strengthening Armenia–Diaspora relations, preserving Armenian identity and culture, and expanding cooperation.

High Commissioner Sinanyan attended the Divine Liturgy at the Church, celebrated by Archbishop Vardan Navasardyan from Sydney, Australia.

The celebrations concluded with a gala dinner, during which a fundraising event organized by the Armenian Street Charitable Foundation took place. High Commissioner Sinanyan opened the event with a welcoming address, wishing the initiative success and a productive outcome.

The official events were also attended by Serob Bejanyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Singapore.
