As part of his working visit to the U.S., the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan, met with professional basketball player Gary Chivichyan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to increasing the international visibility of Armenian athletes, promoting the development of sports among young people, and expanding Armenia-Diaspora cooperation.

During the conversation, Gary Chivichyan presented his professional journey, reflecting on his experience in international basketball, including his participation in the NBA Summer League 2025 and his experience playing for basketball clubs abroad.

High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan highly praised Gary Chivichyan’s achievements and international success, emphasizing that such accomplishments contribute to increasing the visibility of Armenian communities and strengthening Armenia’s positive image on various international platforms.

The parties also discussed prospects for initiatives aimed at developing Armenian basketball, creating new opportunities for Armenian athletes, and expanding international cooperation in the field of sports.
