The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan, met with the co-chairs of the Pan-Armenian Rugby Federation, French-Armenian Nicolas Ancelin and Hakob Abrahamyan, President of the Armenian National Paralympic Committee.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of rugby in Armenia, as well as opportunities for engaging diaspora expertise and resources in the field. The Federation’s co-chairs presented the organization’s strategic priorities, development vision, and programs aimed at promoting and expanding rugby in Armenia at both amateur and professional levels.
The participants also exchanged views on potential areas of cooperation, emphasizing the importance of involving experienced diaspora Armenian athletes, coaches, and industry professionals in the development of rugby in Armenia. It was noted that mobilizing the collective potential of the Armenian diaspora could make a significant contribution to advancing the sport and strengthening international partnerships.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Federation’s representatives invited Zareh Sinanyan to attend the rugby promotion events and exhibition matches scheduled for June 14 in Yerevan. The events aim to increase young people’s interest in the sport and support its growth in Armenia.
High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan welcomed the initiative, thanked the representatives for the invitation, and wished the Federation’s leadership every success in the effective implementation of their programs and in achieving new sporting accomplishments.
