The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan, is on a working visit to Kenya

On June 18, as part of his working visit, the High Commissioner met with the Principal Secretary of the State Department for Diaspora Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Kenya, Roseline K. Njogu.

During the meeting, Roseline K. Njogu presented the activities and structure of Kenya’s State Department for Diaspora Affairs, as well as its strategic priorities and programs aimed at strengthening ties with Kenyan citizens living abroad. In turn, High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan presented the main areas of activity of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, its ongoing programs, and initiatives aimed at promoting repatriation and engaging the potential of the Armenian diaspora.

The parties exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest and discussed opportunities for advancing cooperation between Armenia and Kenya, particularly in the areas of diaspora policy, exchange of expertise, and institutional collaboration.

During the meeting, Zareh Sinanyan formally invited Roseline K. Njogu to participate in the Global Armenian Summit '26, which will take place in Yerevan on November 5-8, 2026.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the State Department for Diaspora Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Kenya took place. The memorandum aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of diaspora policy, promote the exchange of expertise, and further develop bilateral collaboration.
