The working visit of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia continues

As part of the visit, the High Commissioner attended the Armenian Cultural Center in Addis Ababa, where he took part in the official opening ceremony of the exhibition hall-museum dedicated to the history of the Ethiopian-Armenian community. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held by Zareh Sinanyan together with Deacon Vardkes Nalbandian, former President of the Ethiopian-Armenian Community Council.

Following the ceremony, the High Commissioner toured the newly opened exhibition space.

After the official opening, a reception was held at the cultural center, during which Zareh Sinanyan delivered a welcoming speech. He presented the activities of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, ongoing programs, and upcoming initiatives, emphasizing the important role of community institutions in strengthening ties between Armenia and the Diaspora.

Welcoming remarks were also delivered by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Sahak Sargsyan, as well as by Deacon Vardkes Nalbandian, former President of the Ethiopian-Armenian Community Council, under whose initiative and efforts the idea of establishing the exhibition hall-museum was realized.

During the event, the High Commissioner awarded certificates of appreciation to Vardkes Nalbandian, Karó Tilbian, President of the Ethiopian-Armenian Community Council, and Tamara Gevorgyan, a member of the Council, for their contribution to the development of community life and the preservation of Armenian identity.

The official program was followed by a Q&A session, during which community members had the opportunity to raise their questions and present their suggestions.

The ceremonial events were attended by dozens of representatives of the Ethiopian-Armenian community, senior officials of Ethiopian government institutions, members of diplomatic missions accredited in the country, as well as representatives of the African Union, international organizations, and other institutions and invited guests.
