The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan, is on a working visit to Athens

On June 24, Zareh Sinanyan participated in the official opening ceremony of the Office of the Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia in the Hellenic Republic.
The ceremony opened with remarks by Commissioner Misak Hovsepyan, followed by a blessing of the office attended by His Grace Bishop Khoren Arakelyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Greece of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church; His Grace Bishop Sahag Yemishian, Prelate of the Armenian Prelacy of Greece, serving under the jurisdiction of the Holy See of the Great House of Cilicia; and His Eminence Archbishop Yeznik Petrosyan, Spiritual Dean of the St. Karapet Church in Crete, Heraklion.
During the event, Zareh Sinanyan delivered congratulatory remarks.
In his speech, the High Commissioner emphasized that the Office is intended to serve the needs of the community, strengthen Armenia-Diaspora relations, and contribute to the more effective development of cooperation between Armenia and the Greek-Armenian community.
The High Commissioner expressed his gratitude to the Government of Greece and representatives of local self-government bodies for their continued support of the Armenian community.
The event was attended by members of the Hellenic Parliament, representatives of state and local self-government bodies, as well as representatives of the public, educational, cultural, and business sectors.
In their remarks, Greek representatives highly praised the contribution of the Greek-Armenian community to the country’s social, economic, and cultural life and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Armenian-Greek friendship and cooperation.
