High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan is on a working visit to the Republic of Poland.

As part of his visit, on September 3, the High Commissioner met with Kamil Żbikowski, Mayor of Zabrze. The meeting was also attended by Hraczja Bojadżjan, Member of the Joint Commission of the Government of Poland and National and Ethnic Minorities, and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Silesia, Poland.

The meeting focused on opportunities to further develop the strong historical and cultural ties between Armenia and Poland, strengthen the active engagement of the Armenian community in the Silesian region, particularly in Zabrze, and expand cooperation with local authorities.

The sides also highlighted the potential establishment of sister-city relations between Zabrze and cities in Armenia, viewing this as an effective avenue for deepening bilateral ties and fostering closer cooperation at the local level.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing joint initiatives and further strengthening Armenian-Polish relations. The High Commissioner expressed his appreciation to Mayor Kamil Żbikowski for his continued support for initiatives of the Armenian community and his efforts to promote closer ties between the two countries.
