On September 4, as part of his visit, High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan, accompanied by Hraczja Bojadżjan, Member of the Joint Commission of the Government of Poland and National and Ethnic Minorities and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Silesia, Poland, held a working meeting with Marek Wójcik, Voivode of Silesia, and Joanna Bojczuk, Vice-Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship.

The meeting focused on the engagement of the Armenian community in the Silesian region, opportunities to expand partnerships with local authorities, and prospects for further developing bilateral cooperation.

The parties also exchanged about the implementation of joint cultural, educational, and community initiatives, as well as opportunities to preserve and promote Armenia’s rich historical and cultural heritage. Both sides emphasized the importance of continued support for the Armenian community and initiatives aimed at strengthening community life.

Marek Wójcik and Joanna Bojczuk highly valued the Festival of Armenian Culture in Poland, organized at the initiative of Hraczja Bojadżjan and the Armenian Institute he founded, describing it as an important event in the region’s cultural life.

Particular attention was also given to the initiative to establish an Armenian Museum, which, at the initiative of Hraczja Bojadżjan, will operate as part of the Armenian Institute. The museum is envisioned as a space showcasing traditional Armenian carpets, costumes, and other items of historical and cultural significance, contributing to the preservation and promotion of Armenian heritage in Poland.

The leadership of the Silesian regional authorities expressed their readiness to provide full support for the establishment of the museum and its future activities.

Following the official meeting, High Commissioner Sinanyan and Voivode Marek Wójcik toured the historic building of the Sejmik of the Silesian Voivodeship, learning about its rich history, architectural features, and activities.
