On September 13, as part of his working visit to France, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan visited the historic Samuel-Moorat Armenian Middle School in Sèvres.

During his visit, the High Commissioner met with the newly appointed members of the institution’s Board of Directors, His Excellency Bishop Élie Yeghiayan, Bishop of the Armenian Catholic Eparchy of Sainte-Croix de Paris, representatives of the clergy, as well as Ara Aharonian, the principal benefactor of the 2026 renovation of the Sainte-Croix Eparchy.

During a meeting with Ara Aharonian, High Commissioner Sinanyan discussed the ongoing efforts to preserve the institution, as well as potential initiatives for its future.

The High Commissioner expressed his gratitude to the benefactor and the newly appointed Board members for their efforts to preserve and further develop the institution.

On the same day, the High Commissioner attended an outdoor Mass organized by the Armenian Catholic Eparchy of France in the courtyard of Samuel-Moorat Middle School.

During his visit, the High Commissioner also toured the college grounds and the Cultural Center.

In the afternoon, in Le Plessis-Robinson, Zareh Sinanyan attended the open-air cultural event entitled “Armenia Day,” organized at the initiative of the municipality.

The event brought together several hundred people, including members of the Armenian community, French residents, and local elected officials and public figures, including Philippe Pemezec, Mayor of Le Plessis-Robinson, and Deputy Mayor Corinne Mare Duguer.

The High Commissioner toured the event and visited the various stands, learning more about the Armenian products on display, national cuisine, handicrafts, and cultural initiatives.

This year, the M.A.M. educational institution from Armenia was also represented at the event.

Zareh Sinanyan spoke with exhibitors and guests, highlighting the importance of such initiatives. He emphasized that events of this kind contribute to raising awareness of Armenia and Armenian culture within French society, while also creating new opportunities to strengthen Armenia-Diaspora ties and foster cooperation within Armenian communities.
