Zareh Sinanyan received the Co-Chairs of the Pan-Armenian Rugby Federation NGO

On October 5, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan received the Co-Chairs of the Pan-Armenian Rugby Federation NGO, French-Armenian Nicolas Ancelin and President of the Armenian National Paralympic Committee Hakob Abrahamyan.
The meeting focused on the organization’s upcoming initiatives aimed at developing rugby in Armenia, as well as opportunities to effectively engage the potential and expertise of the Diaspora in advancing these efforts.
The discussion particularly focused on strengthening ties with Armenian communities, athletes, coaches, and rugby professionals in the Diaspora; supporting the formation and development of Armenia’s national rugby teams; and exploring opportunities to promote and further develop the sport as part of events planned for 2027.
The participants also discussed the development plans of Yerevan Lions Rugby Club, opportunities for cooperation with international teams and the organization of friendly matches, as well as key priorities and next steps for cooperation for 2026–2028.
High Commissioner Sinanyan thanked the Federation’s Co-Chairs for visiting Armenia and for their continued efforts to support the development of rugby in the country.
On October 4, the High Commissioner attended the match between Yerevan Lions and the Iranian rugby team at Pyunik Stadium. He highlighted the importance of such events in generating greater interest in rugby in Armenia and contributing to the continued development of the sport.
