Inspiring Story of an Argentinian-Armenian Repatriate

11 August 2021

A member of our media team, Hasmik Piliposyan, spoke with Jessica “Chechu” Esayan, who is a repatriate from Buenos Aires, Argentina. From a young age, Jessica traveled to Armenia multiple times as a scout and with her family and continuously had the same thought: she was going to live in Armenia. Coming to Armenia as a Birthright Armenia volunteer about a year and a half ago sealed her move.

By profession, she’s an industrial designer, and alongside her career has been working on a passion project called “Mer Djanabar,” where she creates picturesque maps of Armenia and Artsakh that highlight the intricate, cultural details unique to each region. The maps are available to Armenians in various Latin American cities and demand is growing outside of Latin America.

Jessica encourages other Diaspora Armenians to repatriate and feels safe in her Homeland.

If you’re from Latin America and considering repatriation, please join us this Sunday as our Office’s Repatriation and Integration Coordinator discusses the process in full detail - https://www.facebook.com/events/248727653587537?ref=newsfeed.
