Shant Shekherdimian, Diaspora Armenian physician, pediatric surgeon, professor at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and recently-appointed inaugural associate director for healthcare outreach at UCLA’s Promise Armenian Institute, is now an Advisor to Republic of Armenia Minister of Health, Anahit Avanesyan.

Recently, Shant Shekherdimian repatriated to Armenia with his family. His appointment as Advisor to Armenia’s Health Minister is yet another testament to the active involvement of the Diaspora in Armenia’s public life. Since our Office consistently works to increase the participation of the Diaspora in Armenia, in particular by involving highly qualified Diaspora Armenian professionals in the RA state administration system, we welcome Mr. Shekherdimian’s advisorship in improving Armenia’s healthcare system.
