TUMO Centers Will Open Throughout Armenia and Artsakh
22 September 2021
In the coming years, 16 TUMO centers will be established in large cities in the regions of Armenia and 110 “TUMO Box” mini-centers will be set up in smaller communities, allowing the program to become available to 80,000 young people in Armenia. High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan took part in an event celebrating TUMO’s 10th anniversary, the opening of the reconstructed center in Gyumri, as well as the launch of the "TUMO Armenia" campaign. The “TUMO Armenia: 5 years, $50 million” initiative aims to make TUMO’s advanced education accessible to all young people in Armenia and Artsakh. Armen Yemenidjian from the Yemenidjian family who donated $10 million to the initiative was present at the event. The donation will be used to build TUMO centers in Vanadzor, Kapan and Koghb. TUMO has announced an international fundraiser to raise the remaining $40 million, with the AGBU and Elie and Elzbieta Akilian each pledging to match up to $10 million raised in the first two years.
