Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and Professor Bagrat Alekyan was awarded the first-class Medal of Services to the Motherland by the President of the Republic of Armenia on the occasion of Armenia’s Independence Day.

Since 2016, Bagrat Alekyan has held the position of deputy director for scientific affairs at the multi-profile surgical research institution of the A.V. Vishnevsky Institute of Surgery in Moscow.

He is the President of the Armenian Physicians Association of Russia, which has rendered substantial assistance to the RA healthcare system in overcoming the pandemic and post-war problems.
