15 November 2021

In 2020, for the first time in Armenia’s history, the Armenian government launched the iGorts program for Diaspora Armenian professionals. The program was founded and implemented by the RA Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs. Fifty Diaspora professionals from 19 countries who worked in 19 different state institutions concluded the yearlong program.

Today, more than half of the first-year iGorts participants have repatriated, and 14 of those hold permanent positions in Armenia’s public sector. One of those participants is Hayk Margarian, who was appointed the Director of the National Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. From Russia, Ani Ispirian maintains her new role as Deputy Minister of Economy, while Lilit Akopian is currently stationed in Dubai as head of the Armenian Pavilion at World Expo Dubai 2020. Sahag Mahrejian from Canada was offered the position of Head of the Ministry of Economy’s Digital Transformation Department, and he took it. Shoushan Keshishian from Lebanon moved to Artsakh and heads Hub Artsakh, a modern, co-working space for entrepreneurs.

iGorts 2020 participants graduated from the world’s top universities, including Harvard, UCLA, MIT, McGill, Sorbonne and others.

Hear their stories, witness the fruits of their labor. Enjoy the final iGorts 2020 film.
