High Commissioner Will Have Representatives in Various Diaspora Communities
17 November 2021
The Institute of Commissioners for Diaspora Affairs was introduced in Armenia for the first time. High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan presented the draft law to the National Assembly, which was adopted at the second reading.
As such, the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs will choose his representatives in Diaspora communities, who will then be appointed by decision of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. The representatives will serve on a voluntary basis, will not be paid and will not be subject to any standardized work schedule or regime.
The introduction of this institute will provide new opportunities for Armenia-Diaspora partnerships, creating more direct and effective connections with Diaspora communities.
