Armenian American film expert Anri Vartanov (Columbia University) began his work at the National Cinema Center of Armenia through our Office’s iGorts program. This form of cultural cooperation is unparalleled in the iGorts program.

iGorts Program Director Hermine Harutyunyan introduced Anri to National Cinema Center Director Shushanik Mirzakhanyan, assuring her that he will bring new experiences and approaches to work. Furthermore, Anri Vartanov recently participated in the three-day international conference “National” Cinemas - A Universal Heritage Issues of Reappraisal, Preservation and Popularisation, which was held in Yerevan as part of Henri Verneuil’s 100th anniversary. During the conference, Anri presented an extensive report on how repatriation is portrayed in Armenian cinema.
