As part of his visit to the U.S., High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan visited the Promise Armenian Institute at UCLA. It was established in 2019, and designed to be a hub for world-class research and teaching on Armenian Studies, for coordinating Interdisciplinary Research and Public Impact Program. During the meeting, they discussed the importance of direct Diaspora involvement in Armenia’s public administration system.
They also talked about how the successful case of Dr. Shant Shekherdimian, the Inaugural Associate Director for Healthcare Outreach for The Promise Armenian Institute, who now serves as a senior advisor to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, can become a replicable practice for Diaspora involvement in other areas.
