High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan visited the Narek Educational Foundation’s daycare and Saturday school in Los Angeles. Narek Daycare and school not only teach Armenian-American children the Armenian language but also teach them about the Homeland and connect their roots to the Republic of Armenia. The High Commissioner’s daughter also attended Narek as a child, this is where she learned how to read and write in Armenian.
Then, Zareh Sinanyan visited the LARK musical society, which serves as the musical and cultural center for the Armenian community in Los Angeles. During the meeting, Mr. Sinanyan learned about LARK’s endeavors, how they were impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic and their current expansion project to create a new performance space.
Zareh Sinanyan stressed the important role LARK plays in instilling the beauty of Armenian heritage, history, and culture in the hearts and minds of the Diaspora, especially the youth.
