Opening Ceremony of the 2022 Diaspora Youth Ambassador program
25 September 2022
The opening ceremony of the 2022 Diaspora Youth Ambassador program took place on September 25 in our Office in Yerevan. This is the second cohort of the Diaspora Youth Ambassador program (Training for Diaspora Young Leaders).
We have 20 participants coming from 12 countries: the USA, India, the UAE, Germany, Belgium, Syria, Spain, France, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan.
"I am very glad that you have joined our program and are in Armenia today. Last year, the program was implemented under rather difficult post-war conditions, this year our country is in a no less difficult situation, and your readiness, no matter what, to be here now - speaks for itself," greeted High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan.
"The participants are actively engaged in their communities, plan to strengthen Armenia-Diaspora relations, represent the interests of Armenia, and will be here for two educational weeks learning new insights in the government, and in the public, economic, media, business, and many other fields as well. Afterwards, they will return to their communities where they will continue to be active throughout the year," said Greta Mnatsakanyan, Program Manager.
By joining last year's participant network, we now have 40 ambassadors from all over the world. The new 20 ambassadors shared their expectations from the program and their happiness to be in their homeland.
The opening was attended by a representative of the Jinishian Memorial Foundation, Office staff members and partners, and alumni of the program. The alumni wished the current participants to gain as much knowledge as possible and to be as involved as possible in the life of the community and the activities of the Office. Indeed, three graduates of the 2021 program moved to Armenia this year and work in the country.
